Strung among scattered ruins, cast on the outskirts of a crumbling city, (placeholder) dangles among rock and rubble. Knotted twine suspends a hive as paper faces bathe in the sunset, collecting a slow-growing shadow.
“Placeholder” is an object made to be a space. constructed from only handmade paper, vines, and twine, the structure is an attempt at a harmonious design with nature.
“Placeholder” intentionally seeks to take otherwise wasted or discarded materials to be transformed into usable objects. The space made is not supposed to last forever, yearning to one day degrade back into the earth.
